Integrated Pest Management and Program Guidelines

Modern control of mosquitoes utlizes an integrated approach tha combines surveillance, reduction in breeding sites and judicial, but necessary, application of chemicals. The TMCA endorses that approach and encourages all members to adopt those strategies. To that end, we offer three documents outlining various aspects of IPM.

1) The American Mosquito Control Association has produced a summary of what is generally considered to be the"Best Practices" used in modern mosquito control. (AMCA Best Practices)

2) In 2011, The Texas Department of State Health Services produced a document to outline appropriate program guidelines within the state. (TX Guidelines)

3) In 2013, The CDC produced a document outlining current national program guidelines (CDC Guidelines)
